Working as IT Consultant and Lead PHP Developer for the University of Liverpool School of Architecture.

Key Responsibilities / Achievements

  • Design and implementation of a Digital Collection Repository that can be used to host and disseminate digitised architectural material (such as drawing and photographs).
  • Design of digitisation workflow to allow for the efficient scanning and processing of material to be hosted.
  • Lead the team responsible for the delivery of the material and web site.

Lecturer

After the end of externally funded projects and due to my active involvement in teaching, I was promoted to the position of Lecturer in Computer Science, leading the planning, preparation and delivery of a wide variety of modules in levels 4-7.

Key Responsibilities / Achievements

  • Organisation and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate courses (such as courses on Web Based Software Development, Information Extraction/Representation and Information Security).
  • Supervision of students on undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations.
  • Supervision of students on group work activities both at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level.
  • Manage students working on Agile programming/development techniques acting as Scrum master.
  • Effective delivery of modules, always achieving more that 85% pass rate (which is above the University's KPI).
  • Evaluation of module syllabus and update according to feedback and technology advances.
  • Nominated for the Salford Student Union's Best Lecturer Award 2016.

Key Responsibilities / Achievements

  • Organising comprehensive datasets for Performance Evaluation of Layout Analysis, to cover the needs of various funded projects:
    • IMPACT project — 700,000 images and 52,000 ground-truth files,
    • Europeana Newspapers project — 2,000 images,
    • Contemporary Documents Layout Analysis Dataset — 1,000 images,
    • SUCCEED EU Centre of Excellence in Digitisation — 500,000 images and 40,000 ground-truth files.
  • Contributed towards the development of performance evaluation tools, workflows and on-line platforms.
  • Contributed towards organisation of events (international conferences, workshops, tutorials and competitions).
  • Co-authored conference papers in international conferences.
  • Organisation and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate courses (such as courses on Web Based Software Development, Information Extraction/Representation and Information Security).
  • Co-advised students on undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations.
